Plumeria Champa Flowers

Champa or Cambodians or semboja are a group of plants in the genus Plumeria. The shape is in the form of a small tree with sparse but thick leaves. Its fragrant flowers are very characteristic, with a white to purplish-red Corolla, usually five pieces. Flowers with four or six flower crowns by certain societies are considered to have supernatural powers. The type of Roots is fibrous and the texture of the flowers is not too rough and not too smooth.

This plant is native to Central America. The name Plumeria was given in honor of Charles Plumier (1646-1706), a French botanist. In some parts of the archipelago, including Malaya, Cambrian is grown in cemeteries as a shade plant and place marker. Frangipani can be propagated easily, through stem cuttings.

Plumeria is currently popularly used as an outdoor ornamental plant. Initially, this plant was used only as a grave plant.

Types

Frangipani flower has a number of compounds that are efficacious as a drug, namely triterprenoid amirin, lupeol, and fulvoplumierin. these substances are antipyretic (reduce fever), anti-inflammatory (resolve inflammation), and analgesic (relieve pain). because of these ingredients, frangipani flowers are useful for reducing menstrual pain and preventing fainting due to hot air or exposure to sunlight (heat stroke).

In addition, frangipani flowers also have many other benefits, namely as a medicine outside and inside. As an external remedy, frangipani sap can be used to, for example, treat cavities. The trick is to lubricate the Cambodian gum on cotton which is then used to cover the cavities. But this must be done very carefully so that the frangipani gum does not get on healthy teeth. As an internal medicine, frangipani flower can be used to treat people affected by dysentery. The trick is to put 12-24 grams of dried frangipani flowers into a container of 400cc water, then boil it and leave the water to 200 cc.

Frangipani flowers can also be used to make a wide variety of snacks, for example, to make flower tempura.
